The FCL Advantage in Food Processing:
Cloverhill, a Hostess company and major supplier of individually wrapped pastry products, operated a large food processing facility outside Chicago and was looking to expand operations. When Cloverhill acquired their factory site’s back building, FCL helped adapt the structure to transform it into a 300,000 sq. ft. commercial bakery. Our four-phase plan enabled the existing plant to remain in operation during construction. We upgraded the acquired building’s plumbing, mechanical, and electrical infrastructure, installed an ammonia refrigeration system for the cooling production areas, and integrated spiral freezers and coolers, nitrogen freezing chambers, and a processing conveyor system into six new USDA compliant production lines.
