Matthew
As Director of Sales at FCL, Matthew Taylor is responsible for managing customer relations from project concept to contract for construction. He brings to his work over 25 years of experience in real estate development, civil engineering, and construction management, with a specialty in planning and land development entitlements.
The entitlement process can be long and complicated. Matthew’s breadth of expertise affords him intimate understanding of how to successfully navigate the front-end obstacles to set an industrial project up for approval and drive the business outcomes and investment performance developers and end-users expect.
As a sales executive, Matthew offers prospects and customers a valuable mix of technical expertise and business acumen. His knowledge of diverse sites and soils combined with a fluency in the nuances and requirements of the entitlements process greatly strengthens a project’s due diligence and pre-construction efforts.
He takes the greatest satisfaction in the problem-solving and rapport achieved by close collaboration among customers and project teams on the due diligence, planning, design and value engineering work and exacting pre-con services that gets a building off the ground.
Before joining FCL in 2020, Matthew worked for leading industrial developers and spent 10 years building the Industrial Project Management platform at CBRE, the largest commercial real estate services and investment firm. During this time, Matthew managed the development and construction of millions of square feet of industrial space and built an expansive network across the industry.
Matthew’s fascination with business and industrial real estate began in college. He earned a degree in Urban Studies from Brown University, where he also played D1 Lacrosse. He also holds a Master of Arts in City Planning from the University of Virginia.
